We do not devise topics and formats in isolation. They grow from conversations with parents, meetings between professionals and more than ten years of Sugar Cube experience.

01 / WHAT IS TAKING SHAPE AT BARVÍNEK

Seminars and workshops

Practical topics covering child development, parenting, adaptation, relationships and life in the Czech environment.

Parent groups

A safe place to share experiences, look for solutions together and build a natural support network.

Consultations

An initial conversation helps us understand the situation, identify the need and consider a possible next step.

Czech for children and parents

Support with communication at nursery, school, with professionals and institutions, and greater confidence in everyday life.

The programme is intended for families with young children in Prague 10 who are facing a challenging life situation or adapting to a new environment — including migrant families, single-parent families and families with a limited support network.

It will bring together education, parent groups, support for couple and family skills, preparation for nursery or school and, where needed, short-term professional counselling.

02 / A PROGRAMME THAT LISTENS

We do not want to decide for families what they need.

We talk to parents, gather their experiences, hold meetings and round tables and consult topics with professionals.

We look for recurring questions and areas where clear or accessible help is hard to find. We will continue to refine the programme in response.
